Rural Emergency Medicine

Learning medicine can sometimes be a challenge and just a bit dull. Fortunately for us, a number of medical students from the University of Queensland have developed some educational videos to spice up medical study.

One of the first things you do before becoming a medical student in Australia is obtain a First Aid certificate, so it's always important to remember some of the basics.

When examining a patient you are looking for clinical signs that may indicate a certain disease or disorder. These can be specific to a region (e.g. gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular) and require close inspection, or can be observable more generally throughout the body.

Finally with the election only a day away it seemed vital that the public should be aware of this common yet often forgotten medical condition.

Editors Note: All videos came from Med Actually (otherwise known as Med Revue) a production produced by University of Queensland Medical Students.
